Comments: I'm dissapointed you had to pull the boards, even more dissaponited you posted the comment about the guy who caused all the toruble. You really should keep MW from the news groups, there were no troubles before he and his other personalities runied it for the rest of us.

Comments: I am an elementary teacher and have used this story and the song of the Edmund Fitzgerald to inform my students about this tragic event and mother nature's strength within the curriculum of History, Social Studies, Geography and Science classes. Thanks for the information, it allows teachers to assure that the memory of the men on this voyage will never be forgotten.

Comments: I just finished watching the documentary on this ship. We moved to sault ste marie a year later to the date of the sinking when I was six years old. It was my first history lesson as a child and have grown up with the facts of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Comments: Good site. I still favour the hatch failure theory. I have a copy of the USCG report on the sinking, and all evidence seems to point to that.

Comments: IT IS VERY IMPRESSIVE TO SEE YOUNG PEOPLE INTERESTED IN KEEPING THE MEMORY OF THE FITZ AND THE CREW ALIVE. THANK YOU FOR DOING THAT. ALSO THANKS TO GORDON LIGHTFOOT FOR HELPING TO KEEP THIER MEMORY ALIVE. ALSO REMEMBER 9/11. I LOST 343 BROTHER FIREFIGHTERS THAT DAY. NEVER FORGET THE SACRIFICES THAT THEY AND EVERYBODY MADE THAT DAY. NEVER FORGET 9/11.

Comments: I saw the History Channels documentry on the tragedy. Those pour souls. I am surprised that the reasons for it's sinking are not clearly known to this day. All in all an overwhelming chain of events.

Living in a sea port city & having former sea going relatives I appreciate the enormity of the tragedy of that November day. Please keep up the memory of the Edmund Fizgerald & the memories of those brave soles via this site

Comments: My grandfather and father worked on the boats 22 and 7 years respectively. They both told me about passing the ship at the Soo Locks, and what a beautiful ship she was, and what a loss it was to the fleet of boats at the time.
